Benefits of Virtual Team Building Events and Parties: Celebrating Together during the Holiday Season and Christmas from Afar.
Have you ever been a part of a virtual team-building event? Throughout my journey of hosting Corporate Events for companies from all around the world, I have noticed how these events can shape the experiences of teams, and it's a pleasure that I get to share these with you.
Build Stronger and Deeper Connections with Teams
I have observed that Virtual Team Events help team members to get out of their comfort zones and work together as a team. These events allow them to know their colleagues on a personal level, and to understand each other’s perspectives. They build trust and ensure a flow of communication between teams who might not have interacted much before. Virtual events can be great for both introverts and extroverts. Everyone gets their space, and if someone just wants to observe without participating much, there’s room for that too.
People who generally see each other only on work tables and in the office get to see each other in homely settings. They get to know each other on a deeper level, as they discuss their food preferences, show each other their crockery and kitchen setups. It becomes an engaging environment where everyone gets to know their teammates beyond work.
Virtual events are a great alternative when teams are remote and spread across the world. Teams who never had the possibility to connect before get an opportunity to meet and know each other. A limitation in-person Corporate Events come with is that, due to the limitation of time and resources, teams can’t bring their families to these parties.
But with the rise in virtual events, people get to dance together with their families and pets, which deepens the bond between members and gives them some light-hearted relaxation. People who never get to see each other in real life get to see each other’s dogs and cats and interact with them, and little heartwarming moments like these are the true zeal of virtual events.
Virtual Events Boost Creativity
Something else I have noticed as someone who cherishes creativity is that team-building events provide an environment for innovative discussions. Not only do teams learn how to work together, but they also learn to have a creative outlook on everyday things, which, in the long run, fosters productivity in a healthy manner. Monday to Friday can get very monotonous and these events offer something contrasting.
Most people cook daily for themselves and their families but food styling and dancing aren't a part of their routine. Cooking and making drinks is creative, and at our virtual events, they get the opportunity to go the further mile to do things they don't do every day. Many of our recipes are unique and so teams get to make something they might not have made before.
During events, I engage the teams in every aspect of my food styling. They choose the plates and glasses I serve and the patterns in which I present the delicacies. I am always amazed by how creative the participants are. They always find new ways of styling the dishes we make; sometimes, their creativity surpasses mine, which is always a delight. After a fun event, our notifications get full of people tagging us in their food styling pictures and it is heartwarming to see how much fun they all had.
Time-Efficient Breaks Encourage Productivity
Team building events encourage teams to work together. They provide a break from the monotony of everyday work which is essential for increasing productivity. The advantage that comes with virtual events is that they give a refreshing break in the average duration of an hour.
Once, one of the teams I hosted told me how they were going through a hard week, and that our event enabled them to get out of that. Our interactive events with dancing and cooking make for the perfect fun breaks and help them to engage with their workmates.
Quick and efficient breaks, like our 15-minute dancing Event, allow teams to take a step back from their hectic schedules and dance with us to upbeat music. If you don’t trust us, book a dancing event with us now, and find out for yourself!
Virtual Events are Fun When the Resources are Limited
Offline Corporate Events are wonderful and nothing compares to the human warmth you get from them, but sometimes they are not feasible due to the limitation of resources. In such cases, virtual events very efficiently bridge the gap between teams and a fun event. Office Events between globally scattered teams come with the expense of an international commute, premium venue and quality catering.
Virtual Events, on the other hand, are easily facilitated by the host also as the host we don’t have to incur as many resources as we would on Company Events. You make a warm meal or a drink with your teams with limited and affordable resources, and fun is never compromised! You get to dance with your fellow colleagues, and your families and pets and you feel connected as if you're welcoming your teammates into your kitchen.
Accommodative of all kinds of participation levels
Some people only sit on the couch and laugh at their colleagues when they’re performing goofy dance moves. Some people can actively participate in cooking and dancing while others only want to watch and observe and learn about spices. Some participants just take a cup of warm tea and attend from the comfort of their beds.
A lot of people are merely curious and only come to ask questions and listen to intriguing anecdotes about spices and food. Our events are totally fun for everyone involved and provide a space for everyone, no matter how much they want to get involved.
Virtual Events are accommodative of all circumstances
I think that the best thing about virtual team building events is that they can be accommodative of all circumstances. A lot of people attend these events while traveling, while a few view them from the backseat of a car as they head out of the city. Many people just attend from their office tables even when they have no access to the kitchen, and they are also able to get equally engaged with the story-telling and dancing. I see people taking care of their children on one hand while dancing with them.
We, at Kitty Party, have hosted events where some members are in Australia, some in Singapore, and some in India. This also helps people celebrate festive events in all conditions when they're working far from home. Seeing the heartfelt reviews from these teams telling me how they felt close to each other and had a wonderful time filled with joy, excitement and warmth truly makes me joyous. A lot of people write to me even a year later that they are still talking about our spiced drinks -making event.
